ABOUT DENISE CHAUDHARI

No stranger to the art world, Denise Chaudhari is a creative professional by day and an enthusiastic champion of art and local artists by night. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Denise’s design career has been wide and varied, including gigs with Hasbro as a toy designer and with Microsoft as the lead product designer for the original Xbox controller. More recently, Denise has helmed her own fashion lines (Eeny Meanie/Dandy Social Club) and served as the chief hand illustrator for world-renowned, Los Angeles-based designer Shawn Hausman.

Denise is co-founder and creative director of Firsthand, which produces independent fine art and craft markets throughout the area, and also operates the Lafayette-based figure-drawing studio, The Drawing Room, where she teaches classes and workshops for artists of all levels – from adults to students (student classes use non-nude models), and from beginners to more experienced artists. The Drawing Room also offers weekly non-instructional open figure sessions open to all artists 18+.

For those just starting out, or those who wish to expand their own experiences in figure drawing, The Drawing Room provides an opportunity for everyone to experience a little bit of art school, close to home and in an intimate setting.
