November 2015 Presentation Topic: Pioneers: Women Artists in Boulder, 1890-1950
CU Boulder Professor and Chair of Art and Art History, Kirk Ambrose will present “Pioneers: Women Artists in Boulder, 1890-1950” that he recently presented as part of the University of Colorado Boulder “CU on the Weekend” Continuing Education Program. This a free presentation and open to the public.
Professor Ambrose will highlight how women artists in Boulder used their art to improve the lives of others. From landscape painters to cutting-edge modernists, women artists have played a foundational role in the development of cultural life in Boulder. This lecture offers an introduction to their art, as well as how they used art to improve the lives of others.
Many of the women artists referenced in the course were members of the Boulder Art Association, which was established in 1923. For more information on this CU on the Weekend outreach program please visit the CU Continuing Education website.
No registration required and free and open to the public, but you can RSVP on our Meetup group if you wish.
