Lorena Fox

As a contemporary impressionist painter, I love to paint with vibrant color palettes and thickly textured impasto, often using only a palette knife. I build paintings through multiple layers to create depth and a sense of movement across the canvas. If you look closely, you’ll find subtle variances of color within each tiny portion of a painting.

Painting is an intuitive process for me, sometimes using photos as reference but often pulling from memory and imagination. I explore varying levels of abstraction rather than exact representation.

Each piece I create is a celebration of the natural world. Through my art, I hope to invite viewers to pause, reflect and reconnect with their own experiences of nature.

Growing up on a ranch in rural Montana deeply shaped my relationship with the landscape. I studied Art & Design at the University of Montana and Graphic Design at NC State’s College of Design before moving to Colorado, where the surrounding environment continues to influence my work.
