I started college as a fine arts major. However, I changed direction because at that time, in my mind, I felt I couldn’t draw a person, landscape, still life, etc. Fast forward, decades later when I discovered the medium and magic of alcohol inks.Painting with alcohol inks brings unexpected results.
I find that while I may have an idea in mind when I begin to paint, the inks have a mind of their own that lead my creativity in a surprising direction. The medium has empowered me to let go of the pursuit for perfection and let imperfection lead the way while listening to the creative whispers of my heart.
While I’ve lived in Boulder since the mid-70s, during that time I spent ten years living on the island of Kaua`i. As a result, the varied colors that capture the flow of the ocean often inspire my work along with the beauty of flowers and nature. Each vibrant piece is unique onto itself.
The objective of my art is that it not only speak to you when you view it, but it inspires and brings you joy. I hope, as an art enthusiast, you’ll take pride in owning a special piece(s) that captures the creative whispers of your heart.
