Nederland Community Center – Art at the Center Exhibition, Reception & Interactive Demonstrations

Several Boulder Art Association members along with other local artists will show their art at the Art at the Center art exhibition at the Nederland Community Center in Nederland, CO.  The open reception is Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 4:30 to 7:00 pm including interactive art demonstrations featuring acrylic painting, cell phone photography and ink printing with stamps. The show runs through the September 17, 2016.

May 2016 Member Meeting and Presentation

We hold monthly meetings for members and friends of the Boulder Art Association. Meetings include networking, a short business meeting followed by an arts related presentation. On the second Tuesday in May we’re pleased to have multi-talented artist Ray Geier describing his residency in the Alaskan wilderness and showing the resulting artwork. The meeting is free and open to the public!

Doors Open Denver Photo Contest

Doors Open Denver is an annual celebration of architecture and design presented by The Denver Architectural Foundation.  The event is Saturday, April 23, 2016 & Sunday, April 24, 2016 in Denver, CO. This year they are including a photo walking tour and photo contest.

Melanie Yazzie’s Monoprints at the Dairy Center for the Arts

Melanie Yazzie‘s “multilayered monotypes…focus on storytelling and reflect her dreamtime friends and companions.” They’ll be on display at the Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder throughout March and in the first week of April. The exhibition marks the Dairy’s annual MoPrint (Month of Printmaking).

Ms. Yazzie draws inspiration from the many places she travels (especially New Zealand) and from music (especially Big Head Todd and the Monsters!). She is is a professor of printmaking in the Department of Art and Art History at University of Colorado, Boulder

Hear Ms. Yazzie speak about her work at the Dairy Center on Wednesday April 6 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $10 ($8  for seniors).

Each year, Boulder Arts Week takes place at locations all over the City of Boulder!

Feb 2016 Untitled Final Friday Event at Denver Art Museum

Please join members and friends of the Boulder Art Association as we visit the Denver Art Museum for the Untitled Final Friday event on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Untitled Final Friday events are a platform for artists to share their work, be inspired by the museum and activate the Denver Art Museum collections.

Untitled events are designed for people interested in arts and culture to find a offbeat art experiences and be part of Denver and Boulder’s active creative community.

Untitled Final Fridays events are held on the last Friday of each month from January–October and are included with general admission to the Denver Art Museum and free for Denver Art Museum members.

BLDG 61 – New Makerspace at Boulder Public Library

We want the Boulder artist community to know about the new BLDG 61: Boulder Library Makerspace which will begin normal hours of operation on February 19th in the Main Branch of the Boulder Public Library.

The Maker Movement at Boulder Public Library

This new resource is part of The Maker Movement at Boulder Public Library.  The maker culture emphasizes learning-through-doing in a social environment. The library provides tools, space, and resources to further the Maker Movement here in Boulder. The new BLDG 61 is made possible through a grant from the Boulder Library Foundation.

Diane Wood Solo Art Exhibit at St. Aiden’s Church in Boulder

Boulder Art Association member Diane Wood has a solo art show of her newest art at St. Aiden’s Episcopal Church in Boulder, Colorado from December 1, 2015 to January 31, 2016. St. Aiden’s Church is located at 2425 Colorado Avenue, Boulder, CO 80302.
