I’m an realist artist painting from life. My paintings express aesthetic moments. Some are like a soft breeze; solitary and light-feeling. Others are symphonic; rich in connection and performance. All are part of something bigger than themselves. I enjoy the juxtaposition of the living with the inanimate and the je ne sais quoi, that indescribable something, found in expressions of life. Strong drawing skills are the heart of my work. They shape the ways I use light and shadow, value, form, edges, texture, and color. And when I’ve communicated what I “saw”, that synesthesia of an instant, I sign my name.

I am a commission artist with 34 years of experience, specializing in creating paintings in either oils or pastels that capture the essence of individuals and pets as well as landscapes. It brings me immense joy to craft a piece that resonates with my clients. Alongside my commission work, I have dedicated the last 17 years to teaching art to teens and adults, fostering their creativity and watching them evolve as artists. Witnessing their growth and passion inspires me as much as my own artistic journey.

Many years ago, I got a BFA. I didn’t ‘do’ art for a long time. Boulder’s welcoming art community recently drew me back. I LOVE it! I primarily do watercolor, but also like to do collage and pencil sketches. I am still getting comfortable with calling myself an ‘artist.’ Regardless, I’m hopeful that you enjoy my ‘pretty good art.’

Bryan McKinney is a Boulder-based artist who recently relocated to Colorado after spending the past 20 years living and working on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. His work is inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, and human stories that define a sense of place. Working in watercolor, gouache, oil, and mixed media, he combines a background in illustration, mural painting, graphic design, and art education with a love of observation and craftsmanship. From plein air landscapes to figurative and narrative works, Bryan seeks to capture moments of connection between people, nature, and the environments they call home.

I am an oil painter inspired by everyday life, hard work, and the beauty in simple moments. My work often features classic cars, animals, statues, and landscapes—subjects that carry history and character.

Deborah Cavanagh is an abstract expressionistic artist who is inspired by the sensuality, emotion, exuberance & tranquility found as elements of land, wind, water and light collide. Her landscape paintings are lyrical, juxtaposing bold colors and seductive shapes to capture the energy, emotion and poetry that exists within the natural world.

Colorado Kinetic Arts was born (is the brainchild) of the ingenuity and creativity of artist Michael Deragisch. His unique structural designs appear to float effortlessly, inviting the viewer to follow its movement while simultaneously being moved by the clean, artistic form. Each piece is an original and is the result of artful design and perfect balance. This combination is what makes the mobiles so captivating.

As a contemporary impressionist painter, I love to paint with vibrant color palettes and thickly textured impasto, often using only a palette knife. I build paintings through multiple layers to create depth and a sense of movement across the canvas. If you look closely, you’ll find subtle variances of color within each tiny portion of a painting.
