Call for artists: Birdhouse Benefit Auction for Callwood Fire

2nd Annual Art In The Park for Wildfire Prevention and Recovery The Colorado Chautauqua and Cal-Wood Education Center are excited to partner on another special community art project to help care for two Colorado treasures! We are calling on Front Range artists to decorate birdhouses constructed using wood salvaged from majestic trees devastated by the Cal-Wood Fire.

Birdhouses will be displayed at the Colorado Chautauqua National Historic Landmark from September 16 to October 16, 2022. The public art exhibit will be free to the public. An online auction will run concurrent with the exhibit and close on October 16, with winners announced on October 17–the second anniversary of the Cal-Wood Fire.

Auction proceeds will support Colorado Chautauqua’s critical wildfire prevention campaign and Cal-Wood Education Center’s extensive wildfire recovery efforts. Artists will receive a $100 stipend and a share of the auction proceeds.

Juried by RICK DALLAGO, DEBBIE STEWART [Chautauqua], and SHARON SOLOMON [Bouder School of Fine Arts]
