What is Trompe L’oeil art? Trompe l’oeil (French for “deceives the eye”) is a type of optical illusion where paintings deceive the eye by making a flat surface appear three-dimensional and hyper-realistic. What is this workshop about? This workshop will explore the formal elements of representational painting, varnishing and making oil transfers. Daily painting demos, practical studio tips and powerpoint presentations are an important part of the workshop. Tuesday, May 9, 6:00 – 8:00 PM Studio Sixty-Five Ninety-Five (6595 Odell Place, Unit H, Boulder, CO 80301) Studio 6595 Tour with Serge Goldberg & Jean Pless Serge and Jean’s studio is a unique (approximately 3,000 square foot) warehouse space in Gunbarrel. They will guide a brief studio tour and display of some of their completed paintings. Boulder Art Association Presents 5th Grade Artists from University Hill Elementary “Spending Time with Aspen Trees”. Currently showing now through March 13, 2023. Visit Cafe Aion at 1235 Pennsylvania Ave in Boulder for this curated exhibit featuring art from Uni Hill Elementary School students. Fifth grade artists began their final winter at Uni Hill Elementary planning and painting unique Aspen tree compositions.
