Have you ever wondered what the proper procedure is for framing and/or hanging your art? Come to the FREE August BAA Meeting and find out! Bring a piece of art that you would like help framing or preparing for a show.
We’re pleased to have Annie Thayer as our featured presenter for the evening. Annie, BAA Board Advisory member (and previous Education Chair and Treasurer), is a well-known watercolor artist and expert framer. She has studied with several professional framers, and she’ll be sharing her invaluable knowledge on framing techniques that will make your artwork look professionally framed and put together
Discover the secrets behind professional framing techniques and learn how to enhance your artwork’s presentation. Annie will present general tips relative to all mediums, help you finalize a piece of art that you plan to hang, and then go over some specific techniques for framing artwork under glass. She will cover the steps used to prepare your art, talk about archival materials, show the process of “hinging” your art, and walk you through the final steps of adding a dust cover and wiring the back of your piece. From selecting archival materials to ensuring long-lasting preservation Annie will guide you through the art of framing like a pro.
Annie will have a step by step guide for you to take with you, and will answer any questions you might have about your particular piece.
Plan to bring a few dollars to cover materials you may need, such as wire, screws or hooks, tapes, felt pads, etc.
