Tuesday, August 12th, 6 – 8:00 PM
WHERE: BAA Community Studio 2810 Wilderness Pl, Suite C (DIRECTIONS)
Join artists Ed Narvaez, Jeanne Kipke and Twyla Ryan for a fun and interactive evening exploring the world of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) at the Boulder Art Association’s August meeting. This special 2-hour session will include a short presentation on the history of ATCs, followed by a hands-on workshop.
What are Artist Trading Cards? ATCs are small works of art, 2.5″ x 3.5″ in size, created to be traded among artists or sold to collectors. The concept originated in Zürich in 1997 and quickly grew into a global creative movement. These miniature canvases encourage artistic freedom, experimentation, and community sharing across all styles and skill levels.
Make and Trade Your Own (Trading is optional!)
All materials will be provided. Participants can create their own ATCs using a variety of media—drawing, painting, collage, and more. The evening will conclude with a trading session, where artists can exchange their creations with others, fostering creative collaboration and meaningful connection. (Trading is optional and only with mutual agreement of artists involved.)
We invite artists of all levels to come create, connect, and trade small pieces of imagination. Whether you’re new to ATCs or already a collector, this is a great chance to dive in and share your art in a big way—on a tiny canvas.
The BAA is a nonprofit organization that promotes art & artists. We are a community of artists, welcoming all, offering free events as well as annual member exhibits.
