The BAA is excited to announce our 2026 summer member exhibit, ReCreate!
ReCreate invites member artists to create art with materials & items that would normally be trashed or recycled.

Registration Details
- BAA membership must be current for 2026 (Join or Renew HERE!)
- Due to space limits, art will be juried in
- Size dimensions, photo/s & description required in registration
- Up to 3 items may be submitted
- No fee to submit art – registration fee only if work is accepted
- One to three pieces may be accepted with single registration
- $20 Registration fee for accepted art
- Artists receive 100% of art purchases
- Art must remain in place throughout entire exhibit unless approved by BAA to remove
*The BAA may have a corresponding exhibit at the BAA Community Studio for work that doesn’t get into the library exhibit during the same timeframe. Stay tuned!
Art Details
- 2D & 3D Art
- Artwork must be over 50% recycled/reused materials
- Family friendly
- 2D Art
- Must be wired to hang
- Braided wire attached approximately ⅓ from top
- Heavy pieces must have D rings & braided wire made for full weight of piece
- No claw hooks
- No sharp edges
- Art must be labeled on back with artist name, title of art, price & contact info
- Size limit: Approximately 30” width, including frame (larger pieces may be allowed if there is space – not a guarantee)
- 3D Art
- Must be able to stand on own
- Must be able to set on counter (no floor space)
- Heavy pieces may require artist placement on counter
- No sharp edges or fragile pieces
- Art must be labeled with artist name, art title, price & contact info
- Size limits: Width – within approx. 20”, height within approx. 3 ft, length negotiable depending on entries
Interactive Events
- Dates TBD One in August and one in September
- Participating artists will be asked to volunteer
- Potential events:
- Book Making with recycled materials
- Collage: Vision Boards, Artist Trading Cards, art
- Sock bird, rabbit or doll (Bring own socks)
- Cardboard creations
- Rock Painting

Important Details
- Art must be picked up at pick-up date & time (TBD). If other arrangements need to be made, artists must clear this with the BAA.
- Art cannot be left at the library.
- Art not picked up and without previous arrangements made becomes the property of the Boulder Art Association to sell, keep, gift or donate. (We do not have space to store art.)

- Boulder Main Library 1001 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder, Colorado 80302
- Arapahoe Ramp is located between main library book shelves and restrooms (leading to the cafe)
- Insurance & Loss: The BAA does not insure artwork. It is strongly recommended & the responsibility of the artist to properly insure their work against any damage or loss, financial or otherwise, resulting from copyright, trademark, theft, breakage, fire, flood or any other cause or Act of God to Artist’s work(s) during the term of this agreement.

Dates
- Registration Open: Now!
- Registration Closed: Thursday, May 28th
- Artist Acceptance emails: Sent out June 12th or sooner (from baasubmissions@gmail.com Jotform)
- Artist Fee Deadline: July 7th ($15 BAA Members; $25 Non-Members) Non payment removes artist from exhibit.
- Drop Off at Ramp: Install Tues. Aug 4
- Exhibit dates: Wednesday, August 5th – Monday, September 28
- Exhibit Opening: TBD
- Art Pick-Up at Ramp: Deinstall on Tues. Sept. 29 (Time TBA)
