The BAA is excited to announce our third 2025 member exhibit, Winter/Snow.
The BAA will be joining forces with other Wilderness Art Studios artists (and neighboring Boulder School of Fine Arts) for our 3rd First Friday event with music, art demos, treats and ARTful activities!
Our Winter/Snow exhibit has 4 components.
- Main Show piece inspired by “Winter”
- 6×6” panel/cradle art, inspired by “Snow”
- Prints/”Flat” unframed art 5 per artist
- December First Friday Events December 5th, partnering with Wilderness Art Studios!

- Wilderness Art Studios Artists sharing their art & giving demos
- Winter/Snow Opening Celebration 6 – 7:30 PM
- ARTful Activities (4-8 pm): Winter themed greeting cards (with envelope), Community Painting and Artist Trading Cards to keep or share
Show Requirements (REGISTER for Exhibit HERE)
- Artist BAA membership must be current (Join or Renew HERE!)
- Registration & payment must meet deadline
- Use of BAA 6×6” cradle/panels only. No other 6×6 panels or cradles will be accepted (Details below)
- Main show work must be wired properly for hanging (Details below)
- $25 Submission fee includes submission for main & 6×6” show plus one 6×6” cradle/panel (Note all monies go towards cash prizes, judge, opening supplies & studio rental)
Main Show Piece “Winter” (REGISTER for Exhibit HERE)
- Artists may submit 1 main show piece
- Art should be inspired by the theme “Winter”
- Art must be wired properly for hanging:
- Braided wire with screw hooks acceptable for lighter pieces
- Heavier pieces: D hooks with thicker braided wire
- Wire approx ⅓ down from top of piece
- No claw hooks
- Improperly wired work will not be hung until corrected by artist
- Size limit: 30” width, including frame (larger pieces may be allowed if there is space – not a guarantee)
- Art title, artist name & price must be noted or labeled on back
- Any work NOT picked up within 2 weeks of the Pick-Up date (Friday, Dec 19, 2025 + 14 Days = Jan 2, 2026) becomes the property of the Boulder Art Association to sell or gift*.
*We do not have space to store art.
- The BAA may invite individual artists for a 2nd piece, depending on space. Note: This invitation would be offered to active, long-term volunteers first.
6×6” Piece “Snow” (REGISTER for Exhibit HERE)
- Only panels/cradles provided by the BAA may be used
- One panel per artist
- Submission fee includes one 6×6’ cradle/panel per artist
- Panels may be picked up after registration with payment

- Do not wire panels
- Art title, artist name & price must be noted or labeled on back
- Art must be inspired by theme “Snow”.
- Initial registration does not require title, medium or price. We understand that artists may need time to finish art first. Therefore, a second registration will be due nearer to the drop-off date. - $5 charge if a 2nd panel is requested due to artist error on 1st panel
- Any work NOT picked up within 2 weeks of the Pick-Up date (Friday, Dec 19, 2025 + 14 Days = Jan 2, 2026) becomes the property of the Boulder Art Association to sell or gift. (We don’t have space to store art.)
Prints/Flat, unframed art
- 5 per artist
- Art may be matted, but must be unframed
- Clear, protective sleeves required
- Labeled on back with artist name, title, medium (if a print, note print, not original medium), price and purchasing information (QR code or payment link is best for on the spot purchases)

- Location: BAA Community Center at Wilderness Art Studios 2810 Wilderness Place, Suite C (Back door entrance, center/3rd door – the back of the building faces Valmont). Detailed directions HERE.
- Drop Off: Saturday, November 22nd 12:00 noon – 3:00 pm (Can’t make it? Email info@boulderartassociation.org to arrange another time that works for both of us.)
- Pick Up: Friday, Dec 19, 2025, 2 – 4:00 pm (Email us to arrange another time if this day doesn’t work for you.)
- Any work NOT picked up within 14 days of the Pick-Up date (by or on Jan 2, 2026) becomes the property of the Boulder Art Association
- Insurance & Loss: The BAA does not insure artwork. It is strongly recommended & the responsibility of the artist to properly insure their work against any damage or loss, financial or otherwise, resulting from copyright, trademark, theft, breakage, fire, flood or any other cause or Act of God to Artist’s work(s) during the term of this agreement.
- Volunteer Opportunities:
- Hanging show (Saturday Nov. 22, starting at 3:00 or Sunday Nov. 23 whatever time works for you)
- ARTful Activity Dec 5, 1st Friday, 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm (Email & Let us know what time works for you): ATCs, winter greeting cards, community painting or something you’d like to offer!
- Demo Dec 5, 1st Friday, 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Email & let us know what time works for you. Note: There’s space for only one artist at a time.
- Opening reception Help provide “finger-food” desserts
- 100% sales to the artist with following conditions:
- 100% to artist when artist is present to take payment
- 100% to artist if purchaser can connect with artist and arrange payment either with a QR Code, link or other means at an agreed upon time
- If artist is unavailable and purchaser cannot use link, QR code nor contact artist in the moment, and purchaser wishes to purchase art then & there, with the artist’s agreement (on registration form), the BAA can accept payment with the understanding that 20% of sale price will go to the BAA (80% to artist)

- Main Show: 1st $75, 2nd $50, 3rd $30
- 6x6s: Three $25 cash awards: Snow-licious, Snow Lovely, Snowy Delight (Award titles may change with new inspiration)

- TODAY: Exhibit Entry is OPEN! Payment required to pick up a 6×6” panel!
- Exhibit Entry Deadline (Initial Submission & Payment) – Saturday, Nov 1st, midnight
- Pick up 8×8” cradle/panel Dates – (Please email info@boulderartassociation.org if alternative arrangements are needed)
- Fridays, 2:15 – 4:15 pm: Oct 10, 17, 24, 31 and Nov 7
- Saturdays, 12:15 – 2:30 pm: Oct 4, 18, Nov 1, 15 Note: Live nude model 3-5:00 – NO ENTRY unless you are participating in the figure drawing with us ($20 + optional tip for model, bring your own supplies)
- Mondays, 4:00 – 4:30 OR 5:30 – 6:00 pm: Oct 6, 13, Nov 3 and 10 (Note: Private student 4:30- 5:30)

- Bone Art/Found Objects with Ala Park : Tuesday, Dec. 16th, 6-8:00 pm. Free Demo/Presentation. Get inspired with Ala, creator of beautiful fish bone art!
- In Person Artist Roundtable Tuesday, Dec 16, 6-8 pm. Bring in artwork to share & discuss – or not! We’ll share & discuss show art and/or art brought to the studio – inspiration, mediums and more!
