The Boulder Art Association holds monthly meetings for members and friends. Meetings include networking, a short business meeting, and an arts related presentation.

For the September Boulder Art Association member meeting, we’re beginning a series of workshops to help you build your art business and increase your confidence with digital marketing. The meeting is FREE and open to the public!

All are welcome! Come, bring a friend. Drinks and light snacks will be provided, but feel free to contribute drinks or snacks if you wish.


The internet has changed everything for both art buyers and art sellers. Today’s artists no longer need to be dependent on art galleries if they use an effective online marketing strategy. Art buyers often won’t buy art unless they can get to know more about the artist online.

In the first workshop, we’ll focus on the building blocks of a digital marketing strategy, familiarize you with the broad range of online tools and resources and help you decide what’s right for you.

  • Components of an effective digital marketing strategy and how to get started

  • Why a website is the center of a marketing strategy

  • Personal branding and the importance of brand consistency in marketing

  • How to manage your time between creating art and doing marketing yourself or outsourcing it

  • Finding the best media to tell your online story including blogging, video, images & more

  • How to get started with email marketing

  • Selecting the right social media platforms for you

  • Staying focused and consistent using a marketing calendar

  • Tracking your progress and deciding what works

At the end of this presentation, we’ll break up into small groups for questions, peer sharing and discussion.


Ed Narvaez is a marketing professional and emerging artist in Boulder, CO.This workshop will be led by Ed Narvaez, a marketing professional and emerging artist in Boulder, CO. With previous experience in marketing for tech companies and startups, Ed turned his focus to his own art career in addition to helping others fulfill their full potential with marketing.

Ed has a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and runs a marketing consulting business that provides mentoring and training in digital marketing for artists, art professionals, and nonprofit organizations. Ed’s also a board member, marketing committee chair and volunteer for the Boulder Art Association.

There’s plenty of parking in the parking lot in front of this side of the library. The first 90 minutes of parking are free and there are no charges past 7 pm. An additional 90 minutes may be purchased for $1.25/hour. Kiosks accept credit cards and coins. See map and parking rates here.

2nd Workshop – Tuesday, October 3rd

Focus on creating small format art including greeting cards, artist trading cards and other small format art.


3rd Workshop – Tuesday, November 7th

Focus on the images needed for effective marketing including how to photography art and how to size and format images for a website and marketing use.
