The Longmont Artists’ Guild just announced the call for entry for their 2016 Members Art Show and Sale. Completed call for entry forms must be received by Friday, April 1, 2016. for a lower fee. The event will be held Thursday, June 9th through Sunday, June 12th, 2016.
The deadline is at midnight, Monday, March 21, 2016 to submit an application to participate in Open Studios 2016. No submissions will be accepted after the close of the application date. Boulder Art Association member shouldn’t miss being involved in this popular Boulder art event.
"Is architecture exclusively a construct of humans? Is form exclusively the preserve of nature? Is structure something that binds, or something that frees?" At the DARKROOM, they "challenge you to challenge us, and to submit work that reflects your own personal response to the theme. Whether that response is abstract or realistic, local or worldwide, macro or micro—we look forward to a genuinely innovative and exciting interpretation of Architecture, Structure, and Form."
April 11, 2016 is the deadline to submit applications to the NCAR Community Art Program for exhibitions during the upcoming year, from June 2016 to May 2017.
For over 50 years the program has presented art exhibitions by a range of regional artists at the NCAR Mesa Laboratory in Boulder, CO. Many of the artist featured in these art exhibitions are Boulder Art Association members, including Betsy Cole, Xenia Sease and—currently—Diane Wood.
Individual artists who are interested in applying for a solo show, follow the instructions on the program’s webpage.
If you would like to participate in a group show of works by BAA members, contact Sharon Samson at firstname.lastname@example.org before February 19. Up to 20 artists may participate. Sharon will coordinate a group entry (although each participant will also need to register individually). She welcomes suggestions for a theme for the group show, and offers these ideas to spark your imagination:

The 2016 BAA Annual Juried Art Exhibition will be open to all artists in the Rocky Mountain region. All artwork must be original in concept and execution, and no reproduction giclées are allowed. Artists in all media are encouraged to apply. Artwork must have been completed in the last three years. Our 2016 Juror is Nancy Wylie.

The Boulder Art Association is excited to have renowned artist, author, teacher and explorer, Jill Berry as our presenter at the February 2, 2016 meeting.
Jill K. Berry is a graphic designer, mixed-media artist and painter, teacher, maker of storytelling structures and author of 3 books.
After graduating with a degree in Design, she spent a year of graduate studies in Italy. Her work has been published in Somerset Studio, Letter Arts Review, Cloth Paper Scissors, Art Journaling magazine and many other books and publications. She has taught at three universities in Colorado as well as at several major art retreats. Jill K. Berry lives in Superior, CO.
This will be a hands on demonstration so feel free to bring anything you would like to incorporate into your work. Jill will furnish the basic materials: Paper, markers, glue sticks, colored pencils. You may want to bring your own scissors.
